Position: Machine Learning Engineer
Zach Escalante is a machine learning engineer at Moody’s Analytics. As a fixed income trader, Zach saw numerous opportunities for data science to be implemented in finance. These observations led him into the machine learning field, where he is currently working on leveraging unstructured data sources to implement Natural Language Processing models for text classification. He teaches a fall lecture series to CFEM students on webscraping publicly available data at the Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island and is passionate about exploring how data science applications can result in observable value creation.
Zach completed B.A. and B.S. degrees in finance and mathematics from Florida Atlantic University before heading to Cornell to complete his master's in financial engineering.
In his spare time Zach enjoys scuba diving, hiking and trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Marcelo Garcia Academy in NYC.
