Yiran Wang received his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University. He then attended Cornell University and obtained his Master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering. As an engineering student, he gained a solid foundation in quantitative analysis skills by working with random signals and stochastic processes through various projects. Besides academic study, he has also received formal training as a pianist for 15 years on which he established a multi-dimensional background and a creative perspective of thinking.

Prior to joining the financial engineering program, he interned at Everbright Securities as an analyst in the investment banking department. During the internship, he participated in the IPO for Century Cruises and researched on touring industry to supplement senior executive’s work in the prospectus.

Upon graduating from the program, Yiran intends to utilize his financial knowledge and quantitative skills, along with his creativity in fields of trading, quantitative research or risk management.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing poker, soccer and traveling.
