Tian Shen joined the Master of Engineering program at Cornell University with a concentration in Applied Operations Research in the Fall of 2011. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Fudan University and a Master’s degree in Physics from Northeastern University, where she focused on data analysis and analytical and numerical modeling.

Tian had three-year experience of teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses at Northeastern University. This experience gives her unique opportunities to refine methods of explaining material clearly and concisely to all types of audiences. Prior to joining graduate school, Tian held a fulltime position as a management trainee in Supply Chain and Marketing at Carrier Corporation. She was responsible for providing action-oriented recommendations for sales team, and she led Carrier’s marketing team in all phases of Booth exhibition design and production during the largest HVAC industry exhibition of the year. During her college years, she was elected as the Student President for three consecutive years.

With a highly quantitative background, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technicians and non-technicians, Tian is seeking a role in consulting and supply chain management. In her spare time, Tian enjoys traveling, playing basketball, cooking, and baking.
