Oliver Lu graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering, double majoring in Operations Research and Chemical Engineering and minoring in Applied Mathematics. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Engineering from the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering, concentrating on Financial Engineering.
During Oliver’s graduate studies, he supplemented his financial engineering curriculum with courses from the computer science department, focusing on machine learning (supervised and unsupervised) and numerical analysis. At his internship at XTF Inc., he applied knowledge from his computer science coursework to write efficient and fast algorithms on large data sets to get the ETF metrics needed for the company’s ETF rating models.
After graduation, Oliver is interested in working with large data sets and building predictive machine learning models.
