Karishma Sanghvi is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering at Cornell University with a concentration in Applied Operations Research. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from University of Washington where she took a particular interest in practical applications of quantitative and statistical modeling. Her Honors research applied multi-objective optimization to emergency evacuation strategy in a hospital setting which aimed to make the decision process flexible and better suited for a subjective, dynamic world.
Karishma also worked as a manufacturing and process improvement intern at International Paper where she focused on increasing customer satisfaction and correcting wasteful production processes. To accomplish this, she devised a method to optimally route customer orders based on parameters such as location, backlogs and machine capabilities.
She hopes to exercise her passion for dissecting complex problems and developing useful solutions in a business that uses agility, risk management, efficiency and precision targeting to strengthen its strategic advantage.
In her spare time, Karishma enjoys Bikram yoga, volleyball, and hiking.
