Biography

Evgeny Yakimenko received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stony Brook University, graduating with majors in applied mathematics and statistics, physics, and economics. He has been involved in academic research within Stony Brook’s Physics Department, Economics Department, and Quantitative Finance Group, as well as at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Evgeny has focused on developing and applying his quantitative skills to derivatives pricing and currency hedging while simultaneously deepening his knowledge and understanding of global macroeconomics and foreign policy. He aims to apply this dichotomous approach in his career as a structurer of currency or interest rate products.

At Cornell, Evgeny co-founded the Cornell Association of Financial Engineering to bring Finance students together with experienced faculty for the discussion and development of quantitative trading strategies. He is also a member of the TEDxCornell organizing committee, working to help expose Cornell students to innovative thinking and ideas from a range of disciplines. Evgeny enjoys reading, traveling and playing soccer and tennis in his free time.
