Chenru Gong graduated with honors and distinction from University of Washington where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. She was also the recipient of the E.Thomas Hart Scholarship and the Rober and Kristine Shannafelt Endowment Scholarhip in 2010 and 2011.

Chenru developed an interest in finance during her experience at GD Mortgage Company, where she interned as a mortgage loan assistant. There she assisted 20 clients and helped company loan $4 million. Her experience as a finance reporter and editor in the Shanghai Media Group gave her a deep insight view in finance. There she provided on-air interviewers with background information and reported events in the fields of stocks market and commodities.

Prior to attending Cornell University, she interned at China Construction Bank where she helped clients to research the potential investment in China stocks market, prepared economic analyses report to assess the movement of financial market and developed excel spreadsheet model to back test stock trading strategy.

Upon completion of her Master of Engineering degree in Financial Engineering, Chenru will pursue her career in the financial services industry.

In her spare time, Chenru enjoys playing poker, piano, drum, harmonica and photography.
