Basma Rady received her bachelor degree in Actuarial Science in business administration with concentration on finance with highest honors from the American University in Cairo.

While interning at Ernst & Young (EY) during the summer of 2015, she calculated the fair value of multiple complex securities including stock options, warrants, convertible preferred stock and convertible bonds. She first thoroughly read the terms of the contracts for those securities. Then, she estimated various factors such as volatility and risk free rate and built the model using MATLAB.

Prior to joining Cornell, Basma was a business analyst trainee in a Schlumberger sourcing team in Dubai. During her internship, she created a framework that aggregated and provided visibility of supply chain spends data across company segments in the Middle East. She also utilized her quantitative skills in supporting the team in tracking the impact of daily activities on achieving three critical business objectives.

With strong quantitative and communication skills, she is eager to pursue a career in structured finance and portfolio management upon graduation.
