Yue Wang joined the Operations Research Master of Engineering program at Cornell University in August 2013. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a bachelor of engineering degree in electrical & electronic engineering, a highly quantitative field that develops tools and methods to apply mathematics and programming to solve complex electrical and signal processing problems.

Yue is a fast learner. He quickly grasps new knowledge and applies them to complex tasks as demonstrated by joint project with Singapore’s Ministry of Defense. As a contributing member of a team, he helped in developing a positioning system within a year from scratch utilizing technology and knowledge which was totally new to him. He also developed a keen interest in the business world. Besides taking courses in finance and marketing, he gained real investing experience by following the technology market and researching on manufacturing industry through his previous internship with CITIC Securities (China International Trust and Investment Corporation). In the future, Yue hopes he can continue his work in the financial services industry utilizing his quantitative and analytical skills.

Yue spends his free time playing basketball, reading and drawing. He is also excited to travel around the world and discover new cultures.
