Xue Yang graduated with academic scholarships and honor from Nanjing University, China, where she earned her bachelor’s degree of economics in finance. During her undergraduate studies, she focused on the application of quantitative analysis in finance and accomplished two academic theses with distinction concerning the correlation between stock prices and mutual funds in Chinese market and the efficiency of Chinese money policy.

In the summer of 2008, Xue interned at Bank of China, Jiangsu Branch as a Loan Analyst in the Company Loan Division. There she applied her knowledge of Excel and VBA in pricing the loan products, evaluating the risks and analyzing financial statements of important clients. She also participated in an assessment project on providing loans to a construction project in the main commercial district of Nanjing.

Strong interests in applying quantitative skills in finance motivated Xue to pursue further study and join the Financial Engineering program at Cornell. She has great penchants in risk management, trading and quantitative research in finance and looks forwards to pursuing a career in an investment bank, bank or consulting firm upon graduation.
