Jiro Boonthong graduated from the University of Washington in 2009 with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. He has worked for a startup online education company in Seattle since its first day of business as an Analyst and Project Manager. Under high- pressured environment with tight deadlines, Jiro remarkably developed his leadership, technology, problem-solving, and project management skills. He also has experiences with outsourcing and working with people from other side of the globe.
Prior pursuing his Master’s degree at Cornell, he was working at medical firm as a Supply-Chain Engineering Co-Op. He worked in conjunction with R&D and Marketing departments on pre-released products, and tremendously learned on the manufacturing and marketing processes.
Having worked for two solid years in different industries, Jiro believes that it would be beneficial for him to learn more about Operations Research tools that will help him leverage his technical background in technology and manufacturing industries.
Upon completion of the program, Jiro intends to pursue his career path in consulting and/or manufacturing field(s).
In his spare time, Jiro enjoys photography, cooking Thai food, traveling, and hangs out with his new Cornellian friends from around the world.
