Michael Leszczynski received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In his senior year, he collaborated with faculty of the Mechanical Engineering department to develop alternative layouts for Rensselaer’s student machine shop. Through the use of work sampling techniques, Michael proposed a work-cell configuration which integrated new CNC equipment as well as widened shop center aisles 30% for improved operator safety.

Leszczynski has interned at his family’s manufacturing business, Anco Engineering Inc. during the past five summers. In the summer of 2016, he used Costimator 14 to script plant-specific product cost models for the company’s sheet metal operations. In the summer of 2015, Michael worked with CNC machining operators to standardize a library of 120 cutting tools, improving workstation organization and reducing overall setup times across the department by 50%.

Upon graduation, Michael is eager to pursue a career in the manufacturing industry where he can implement lean production strategies towards fabricating high-quality products in the United States.

In his spare time, Michael designs and builds electric guitars. He has drawn inspiration from famous rock star personalities including Edward Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Paul Stanley, Joe Perry, Mick Mars and The Edge from U2.
