Sasha Stoikov, who spent the 2006-7 academic year in ORIE as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Ithaca, joins the staff of Cornell Financial Engineering Manhattan to head research and advise Masters projects. Read more

Professor Robert L. Strawderman, a member of the Graduate Field of Operations Research, has been named recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Alum Award of the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health. Read more

The Cornell Board of Trustees has approved the promotion of Huseyin Topaloglu to Associate Professor with indefinite tenure. Read more

Master of Engineering recipients celebrated the completion of their degree program as awards were given for academic and project performance. Winning projects dealt with web marketing, pandemic flu and emergency helicopters. Read more

The topic of liquidity has been very much in recent financial news. With the support of the National Science Foundation, Cornell hosted a conference on Liquidity Risk, with participation by ORIE professors Jarrow, Protter, Schied and Weber. Read more

Ramin Farhangi, third in his family to study Operations Research at Cornell, is the first student ever to graduate with three degrees through a unique College of Engineering international collaboration. Read more

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the end of May, right after the Cornell Commencement in Schoellkopf Stadium, graduating ORIE seniors received their diplomas in Sage Chapel. Several students were given special awards for their academic excellence. Read more
