Vasu Jarerattanachat graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a B.A. in economics with a concentration in advanced economic theory and quantitative economics and with a First Class Honors in 2013. He also received a full financial support from Economic Bachelor of Arts Scholarship.

In 2012, Vasu was awarded the McKinsey Consulting Fellowship which provided him an opportunity to gain in-depth experiences in consulting and business from Mckinsey & Company. Later in the same year, he participated in the Algorithmic Trading Workshop and Competition and was licensed by Thailand Security Institution to be an equity trader.

Inspired by the valuable experiences during his undergraduate years, he continued the path and began his career as a trainee with PriceWaterhouseCoopers Financial Advisory Service in the deals department. During the time, he was actively involved with clients on sale transaction of non-performing loans to asset management firms, facilitated the process and calculated the bidding prices of the loans. Offered a unique opportunity by CitiBank, Vasu then participated in CitiBank’s Securities Fund Services Operations in the risk and control team. He ensured compliances with the Bank of Thailand regulations of the fund transfer reports and the accuracy of marked-to-market prices for more than 40 derivative securities.

Having received a full graduate scholarship from Kasikorn Bank in 2013, Vasu is determined to take this as the opportunity to learn more about the financial market and pursues his passion with Cornell’s financial engineering program. His particular interests are strategy and risk management.
