Paul Klug, Managing Director and COO of Deutsche Asset Management Asia, opens the 2007 Enterprise Engineering Colloquium.

Paul Klug '73, Managing Director and COO of Deutsche Asset Management Asia, was the first speaker in the Enterprise Engineering Colloquium. He provided a perspective on the role of the asset or portfolio manager.

Mr. Klug's  topic was "An Overview of Global Asset Management". He compared the production, packaging and distribution of manufacturing and financial products, discussed evaluation of portfolio managers in terms of risk and return over time, and characterized the contrasting business strategies needed to deliver returns that are highly correlated with a benchmark ('beta') versus returns that are uncorrelated with the benchmark ('alpha'). He is a 1973 graduate of the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering.

The Colloquium, which meets weekly at 4:30 in Phillips 101,  is open to the public. Refreshments are available at 4:15. The public is welcome.
