ORIE undergraduates inducted into the Omega Rho International Honor Society

Omega Rho is the Honor Society for Operations Research and Management Science.

Since 1976, the Omega Rho International Honor Society has recognized superior scholarship and leadership in undergraduate and graduate programs in operations research and related fields.  At a luncheon in May with prior inductees and faculty, sixteen ORIE students were inducted into the organization by the Cornell chapter, founded in 1995.

The chapter recognizes outstanding students who attain a high rank in scholarship in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering. The students that are invited to join Omega Rho have the opportunity to attend chapter meetings and activities to advance scholarship, ethics, and professionalism in their discipline.

In addition to the inductees shown in the photo, Peter Haas, Ye Li, Julia Littlehale, Megan Ma, Phaedra Randolph, Luis Ruigomez, Divya Singhvi, Somya Singhvi, and Rannie Zhang were inducted into the honor society.

Among the 42 honorary members of the international organization are ORIE Professors Emeritus Narahari Prabhu and William L. Maxwell, Johnson Graduate School of Management Professor Stuart L. Hart, and distinguished ORIE alumni Robert E. Bixby, Alfred Blumstein, and Arthur M. Geoffrion.
