Biography

MEng Concentration: Applied OR
Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2015

Chris Zeng joined the Master of Engineering program at Cornell University with a concentration in Applied Operations Research in August 2014. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Science with First Class Honors from the University of Auckland (New Zealand) in 2012.

Prior to joining the ORIE program, Chris worked as a data analyst Contact Energy Ltd in New Zealand for two years. As part of a multi-disciplinary geothermal development team, Chris applied his data analytics and programming skills to assist geologists, reservoir engineers and financial analysts in streamlining their data analysis processes and making data-driven decisions.

Chris’s fortes include spreadsheet modeling, developing automated data processing tools and IT project management. Chris has a strong interest in big data analytics, and to equip himself with more knowledge in this area, he is currently taking courses in machining learning, data-driven analytics and data mining.

During his free time, Chris enjoys skiing, playing guitar and taking road trips, exploring new places.
