Zeyu Huang joined the ORIE M.Eng. program at Cornell in 2016, where he majors in applied operations research and is developing his technical skills in quantitative analysis. He received his bachelor’s degree at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, majored in Automotive Engineering. In his undergraduate thesis, he developed an energy distribution strategy using fussy logic for a hybrid vehicle, improved the efficiency and extended the battery life comparing with previous model. During his study abroad semester at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, he collaborated with graduate students in a multi-cultural context and completed an academic project about fuel cell vehicle power system.

In addition to his academic training, Zeyu has gained experience in the industry. He has interned in IHS, a market research firm, where he focused on collecting market information and drafting client report. In his internship in EY, he engaged with clients and worked in financial report revising and financial statement verifying. As a mechanical engineer, Zeyu has worked in a student racecar club after class for three years, concentrating on simulation, optimization and testing of the performance of a racecar.

Huang has enjoyed his experience in working with people from different educational backgrounds through internships and multidisciplinary projects. He is eager to apply his passion and skills in modeling and quantitative analysis into the business world.
