In summer 2011, Yiyi worked as a research assistant for Professor Buhong Zheng at the University of Colorado-Denver on his research project “Consistent comparison of pro-poor growth”. Using data from Indonesia and Peru, Yiyi examined the empirical results in SAS to show the proposed theoretical metric is consistent with the growth-rate consistency axiom. Beside coursework, Yiyi served at the University of Colorado-Denver Student Government Association as a finance senator. By analyzing organizations’ budget proposals, she made funding allocation decisions.

Yiyi looks forward to gaining in depth understanding of financial phenomena and the techniques to hedge risks through the Financial Engineering program at Cornell. She desires to pursue a career in risk management or asset management to leverage her analytical skills in financial industry.

In her spare time, Yiyi enjoys travelling, photography and playing basketball.
