Yasar Eren Biri has a B.S. in Computer Science from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. During his study, Yasar spent one summer as an intern for Tusas Aerospace Industry working on an unmanned aircraft project where he was responsible to find logical errors on automated flap maneuvers. He spent another summer as an intern at Turkish Vakiflar Bank where he worked at credit card security division under where he was back-testing several fraud detection algorithms, and reporting the performance comparison of the algorithms. Besides technical work, Yasar was the president of Bilkent University Computer Club for 1.5 years, and he traded carpets as a part-time job until he started working full-time for a software company.

Yasar started working for Bor Software Company as a software engineer during his last semester. He started working at a research project for a generic mobile software development platform for J2ME based mobile devices. He later joined the design team of a GIS project for an electricity distribution company and continued working on the development team after project implementation has started.

Yasar grew huge interest in finance during his undergraduate studies and after experiencing the work life to make a better decision, he decided to pursue his career in finance which made him join the Financial Engineering program at Cornell University.
