Biography

Wen Jie obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Cornell University, graduating cum laude. His deep understanding of computer architecture will be invaluable as the financial industry increases its dependence on technology.

Prior to joining the financial engineering program Wen Jie interned for two summers at General Electric, where he honed his programming and project management skills. During the summer of 2011, Wen Jie interned at Citigroup as a summer technology analyst supporting the foreign exchange trade desk. He developed an automated testing utility for the pricing engine used by the trade desk to ensure changes were being applied correctly. In this role, he became interested in the models behind the pricing engine. He decided to return to graduate school to gain a better background on quantitative financial analysis and pricing.

Upon graduation, Wen Jie would like to apply his skills and understanding of the financial markets in risk management, high frequency trading, or quantitative trading.

In his spare time, Wen Jie enjoys cycling, volleyball, and photography.
