Shuaijia (Dora) Dai received her B.S. degree in actuarial science and mathematical statistics with highest distinction from Purdue University in May 2014. After graduation, she decided to join the Master of Engineering in Financial Engineering program at Cornell University to further enhance her quantitative skills and deepen her understanding of financial markets.

Dora developed a keen interest in quantitative research and portfolio management through her participation in the Chicago Quantitative Alliance Investment Challenge. Her team came up with three strategies to construct a beta neutral and dollar neutral portfolio from 1000 stocks. She was also mentored by two experienced quantitative investment professionals and gained valuable insight into the investment industry. As a research assistant in the Indiana Local Technical Assistance Program, she helped a team of civil engineers use statistical methods to analyze crash data and to evaluate project performance.

Upon graduation, Dora would like to pursue a career in risk management, quantitative research or asset management.
