Shengjie Tu graduated from both University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Shanghai Jiao Tong University with another Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She decided to pursue a Master of Engineering in Applied Operations Research to expand her skill set.

Shengjie found her interest in Operations Research through an internship as a research and development intern with Ericsson. She worked on optimizing the quality of mobile network connections by geographically refining the allocation of site services.

As a computer engineer, Shengjie has cultivated expertise in programming and database management. She has practiced her programming and problem-solving skills in many company-sponsored engineering projects. For the most recent project sponsored by GE, she designed a wireless stethoscope for diagnosing heart diseases through extensive programming and simulation.

Shengjie has enjoyed her experience in working with people from different educational backgrounds through internships and multidisciplinary projects. She is enthusiastic in applying her problem-solving ability and analytical skills in real-world problems.
