Biography

Ruxin Jia graduated cum laude from Mount Holyoke College in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and minor in Economics. In recognition of her academic achievements, she was awarded the Mildred L. Sanderson prize in Mathematics.

Ruxin’s undergraduate studies allowed her to achieve an intrinsic understanding of the fundamental concepts and theory behind financial markets and their operations. As a current student in financial engineering at Cornell University, she hopes to gain profound knowledge in derivatives pricing and develop solid quantitative and programming skills.

Through her previous internships in consulting and finance, she gained experience in market research and public speaking. She is currently a member of the Cornell Association for Financial Engineering and plans on to compete in the Rotman International Trading Competition with her fellow teammates.

With her quantitative and theoretical knowledge of financial markets as well as strong communication skills, Ruxin would like to pursue a career in quantitative finance upon graduation.

In her spare time, Ruxin enjoys playing Texas hold’em and working out. She is a fervent reader of Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Ruxin was also an IHSA registered athlete during her time on the Mount Holyoke Equestrian Varsity Team and competed in several regional horse shows.
