Liyun Wang graduated from Vanderbilt University with a major in Math and minors in Psychology, Financial Economics and General Music.

She is passionate about business analytics and hopes, with her technical skills, to provide better insights into the industry she works in. During her undergraduate studies, she actively participated in academic research and analytical projects: she contributed to a research program on facial recognition in Vanderbilt Psychology Department and conducted a project on immigration and employment with Vanderbilt Sociology Department. Besides, she worked at Tennessee Democratic Party for a year as a data analytics intern to help campaign organizers target potential supporters in the state for the upcoming election.

Apart from technical projects, Liyun also gained experience in the business through internship. During her time with Thompson Research Group, she helped cover four companies in construction sectors and also worked on a due diligence project. She learned about how analytics are used in business contexts and gained a better idea of how to prepare herself for a career in business.

Liyun acquired a broad repertoire of analytical tools through her academic training and she is eager to apply those technical skills to solve real business issues.
