Biography

M.Eng. Concentration: Data Analytics
Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2017

Kimberly Brown is expected to graduate from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and Information Engineering and a minor in Computer Science in December 2016.  She is working to wrap up her undergraduate degree and begin her graduate courses simultaneously during the fall semester.

Brown has long held an interest in mathematics and data analytics is a challenging field where this interest can be applied.  Kimberly has excelled academically in her chosen field at Cornell, taking classes such as probability and statistics, algorithms, and optimization.  Her internships at Morgan Stanley have also given her exposure to the culture at a large firm as well as hands on training in database technology.

As a TA for Optimization II, Kimberly has enjoyed tutoring other students to better their understanding. It often involved finding different ways to explain the problems and required an in depth knowledge of the material.

Outside of classes, Kimberly is a key member of the women’s ultimate Frisbee team at Cornell and was elected to be a captain her sophomore and senior year.
