Kaiyan Li graduated from City University of Hong Kong in 2013 with a BEng in information engineering, a highly quantitative field that develops tools and methods to apply high-level mathematics to model complex networking systems.

Kaiyan gained experience in finance through several internships. During the year before he joined Cornell University, Kaiyan interned at the client solution group in CSOP Asset Management. While working at CSOP, Kaiyan worked closely with sales and research department to develop best investment solutions for oversea investors. In summer 2012, he helped develop investment strategy in papermaking and light industry for the research department of GF Securities.

Kaiyan chose Cornell's Applied Operations Research program because of its world-renowned combination of quantitative analysis, business strategy, and goal-oriented projects. He hopes to continue his quantitative work in the financial services industry.
