Juan Felipe González completed his B.S. in Applied Mathematics & Industrial Engineering with a minor in Economics & Finance from Mines Nancy, a leading French Engineering School. His undergraduate studies focused on the implementation of decision and production systems laying a strong foundation in mathematics, computer science and technical problem solving.

While interning at the Digital Lab at Banco de Bogota during the summer of 2017, he developed materials for data visualization, built applications to improve tellers’ efficiency and customer flow, and prepared pitch slides for the Digital Lab managers.

In his undergraduate project with Saint-Gobain Research Lab (French multinational in the constructor sector), he applied web crawling and text mining tools such as sentiment analysis techniques to gather and analyze users comments in different websites.

Besides his desire to become a competitive engineer, he believes that the extra-curricular activities have allowed him to develop attitudes that will be essential to his career. During his undergraduate studies, he belonged to the Student Union Committee, where he was the treasurer. He was in charge of managing the accounts and coordinating the monthly budgets.

Juan’s objective in pursuing his M.Eng. is to strengthen his skills in machine learning, financial engineering, simulation and modeling.
