Joshua Nelson joined the Masters of Engineering program at Cornell University with a concentration in Applied Operations Research in the Fall of 2012. He recently graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Engineering Leadership in May 2012 from the University of Central Florida.
During his time at UCF, Josh was selected to participate in the department’s Academic Program Review (APR) and has held various leadership positions within the student organizations. He served as President of the Industrial Engineering Honor Society (Alpha Pi Mu) and Treasurer of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He has studied abroad at Cambridge University learning about engineering techniques during the Renaissance.
Josh worked as a Test Engineering co-op student with Lockheed Martin for over two years as an undergraduate at UCF. As part of his experience there he gained interaction skills with senior management and lead engineers by conducting and joining meetings the program was involved with. He gained exposure in implementing new procedures, process improvements, and supporting four fire control programs.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys traveling, taking photographs, and playing his saxophone.
