Jiyao Fan received his Bachelor degree of Economics and Finance from University of Hong Kong in July 2014, graduating with first class honors. He made the Dean’s Honors List for two years and the HKU Foundation Scholarships for Outstanding Mainland Students from 2011 to 2014.

During his internship with a private equity firm, Bohai Industrial Investment Fund, he wrote a report on the performance of Central China Securities, Co under investment, and also helped his team research interbank liquidity conditions and the new third board market in China.

In 2013, he worked with two team members on the BNP Paribas Ace Manager Competition and achieved a ranking of 38/3465. He utilized MATLAB and Excel to process and analyze large amount of data, construct optimal portfolios, price financial instruments, and complete many other tasks.

Using his master’s degree in financial engineering, Jiyao wants to further develop his quantitative and analytical skills. Upon graduation, Jiyao is eager to pursue a career in quantitative research, trading or asset management. He is also open to other opportunities.
