Haowen Meng graduated with Cum Laude from Rutgers University, New Jersey in May 2010, where he earned a B.A. in mathematics and economics.
He interned in the risk management division at China Development Bank in 2007. During the internship, he participated in various deals, ranging from credit rating system, national projects investment to data analysis for institutional client research. Such experiences evoked his interests in the financial industry. During his freshman year, he co-founded Fentis Limited, which is an off shore company in British Virgin Island targeted for high technology business. Through presenting the business plan with identifying USP and risk analysis control, he successfully raised capital from domestic and foreign investors.
With the passion in both mathematics and finance, Haowen further devoted himself into Cornell’s Financial Engineering program. He expects to integrate and improve his financial and mathematical skills through the program’s rigorous curriculum for his future career.
Upon graduation, Haowen is looking forward to working in the fields of investment banking, sales and trading, or financial consulting, where he can leverage his strong computational finance background.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing poker, golf, chess and researching history.
