Han Dong is currently enrolled in the Master of Engineering program at Cornell University with a concentration in data analytics. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in June 2015.

In his honors thesis, he developed a mathematical model for hybrid production and cooling manufacturing system, and successfully constructed its simulation model with <0.2% margin of error of accuracy.

In the fall of 2014, Han joined Accenture Strategy on a vehicle insurance project. In this internship, he collected and analyzed company’s status quo from client’s interview, and helped to develop strategic recommendations for branches marketing initiatives. He mined 650k rows of existing vehicle records from two years of data, and derived vehicle price and brand distribution of prioritized markets in his market research.

Han believes that the combination of statistical, simulation and optimization skills can boost the formation of business insights. He has worked on projects in manufacturing, healthcare and supply chain, and expects more opportunities to implement his quantitative and technical skills into business world.

In his spare time, Han enjoys security investment. He also plays soccer and has been the school representative of SJTU in Dragon Boat Contest.
