Fan Xu graduated from Peking University with a Bachelor of Economics degree in Jul. 2013.

Fan enhanced analytical skills in finance and advisory with rich internship experiences. In this summer, she interned at Citigroup and assisted with building a risk system for Citi Treasury Investments, collaborating with the risk team, investment team, risk reporting group and model validation group. When interned at UniCredit Bank AG, she conducted financial analysis on companies in energy & infrastructure and consumer goods & retail sectors, maintained both target and buyer databases to support the North Asia team for potential cross-border merger & acquisition deals. Prior to that, she went on exchange to the University of Melbourne and worked on the co-op consulting team project with IBM Australia, during which she advised social media marketing strategies for the IBM Mainframe product to enhance its perceptions.

She joined Cornell to incorporate in her experience a well-developed quantitative finance program so as to better prepare for her career goals as fixed income, risk management and asset management. She is pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is currently a Level III candidate.

Fan enjoys photography, jogging and volunteer work in her spare time.
