Chenmin completed his Bachelor of Science at Zhejiang University in China, and graduated among the top 10% of his major. He received strong schooling in the subjects of mathematics and programming in the Mathematics & Applied Mathematics Elite Students program at Chu Kochen Honors College. At Cornell ORIE, Chenmin is concentrating in Information Technology, where he is developing his technical skills in data mining, machine learning and big data.

Chenmin worked as a researcher and developer at Sunyard System Engineering Company to upgrade an Optical Characters Recognition (OCR) system in the summer of 2013. He researched feature detection of the characters and used machine learning techniques to improve the accuracy of the recognition. At Cornell, Chenmin keeps doing projects on data analysis, text mining and web mining with machine learning algorithms on Python.

In his spare time, Chenmin enjoys playing soccer.
