Bolun Peng obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with minors in computer science and economics, from DePauw University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also studied as an exchange student at University of Oxford during his senior year.

Prior to joining Cornell’s Financial Engineering program, Bolun worked as a summer analyst at Macquarie Group and Guosen Securities. While working at environmental financial products team of Macquarie, he developed pricing models for carbon credits, estimated profit and loss on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, and sourced investment opportunities in renewable energy. At Guosen Securities, Bolun worked in investment banking division, where he developed different valuation models and performed due diligence work for a private solar photovoltaic company.

Bolun is pursuing a master’s degree in financial engineering at Cornell in hope of further developing his technical skills and understanding of the financial markets. Upon graduation, he hopes to employ his quantitative skills in trading, structuring/strategies or quantitative research.

In his spare time, Bolun loves skiing, playing trumpet and traveling.
