Amir Younesi received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. The combination of his coursework in investments and economics led him to develop an interest for the interrelationships between asset classes and the macroeconomic landscape. He is now pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in Financial Engineering to supplement his conceptual understanding of the financial markets with a deeper mathematical background.

While at Cornell, Amir has embarked on a research project with a classmate to design a risk-parity investment strategy, which thus far has been backtested with promising results and merits further research.

Amir has most recently completed an internship with XTF Inc, a quantitative research and advisory firm specializing in ETFs, where he acquired product specific knowledge. He has also previously interned with Aviator Fund Management and Fortress Investment Group where he gained exposure to the inner workings of hedge funds from the front to back office. He has worked closely with portfolio managers in a research capacity and has also rotated through pricing, operations, and treasury.

In his spare time, Amir enjoys playing competitive soccer and leading an active lifestyle.
