Rajiv Patel

Raj Patel is a managing member of Farallon Capital Management, a global institutional asset management firm based in San Francisco. Farallon pursues opportunistic investments primarily in credit, public equities, merger arbitrage, and real estate around the globe. He co-manages the U.S. credit portfolio and is a member of the firms’ global investment committee.

He recently served as a trustee and the treasurer of the Hamlin School of San Francisco and as a member of the Cornell ORIE Advisory Council. Raj currently serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Trust. In addition, Raj has served as board member or observer for numerous companies on behalf of Farallon Capital, most recently Nexvet Biopharma.

Prior to joining Farallon in 1997, Raj gained experience working as an analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York on the project finance team in investment banking. Raj graduated from Cornell University (B.S., operations research and industrial engineering) as a Merrill Presidential Scholar and Stanford Graduate School of Business (M.B.A., finance). He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two children.
