Omega Rho inducts 15 new members

At a luncheon in May, 15 ORIE students were inducted into the Omega Rho International Honor Society.

Since 1976, the Omega Rho International Honor Society has recognized superior scholarship and leadership in undergraduate and graduate programs in operations research and related fields. At a luncheon on May 8 with prior inductees and faculty, 15 ORIE students were inducted into the organization by the Cornell chapter, which was founded in 1995.

This year’s inductees include Hannah Ajmani, Cameron Bartok, Kendrick Cancio, Xiaofan Chen, Amelia Elverson, James Kim, Meghan McKenzie, Saurabh Mittal, Gregory Pekar, Ziyi Peng, Patrick Roeschel, Ellen Patridge, William Sanders, Holly Wiberg, Clair Yang.

The chapter recognizes outstanding students who attain a high rank in scholarship in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering. The students who are invited to join Omega Rho have the opportunity to attend chapter meetings and activities to advance scholarship, ethics, and professionalism in their discipline.

Among the 42 honorary members of the international organization are ORIE Professors Emeritus Narahari Prabhu and William L. Maxwell, Johnson Graduate School of Management Professor Stuart L. Hart, and distinguished ORIE alumni Robert E. Bixby, Alfred Blumstein, and Arthur M. Geoffrion.
