Emergency Response Logistics Conference held at OR Manhattan

On Aug. 2-3, leading researchers discussed public health emergency response logistics at the Manhattan campus of Cornell’s School of Operations Research and Information Engineering.

The presenters, experts in the fields of engineering, computer science, emergency medicine, biology, and policy analysis, came from universities, government agencies, national labs and corporations to describe their work in planning for potential emergencies such as pandemic flu outbreaks and biological or chemical terrorism. Participants also focused on formulating a coordinated research agenda and strategies for effectively presenting proposals to clinicians and policymakers. The event was sponsored by the Intel Corporation.
