David Ruppert works on the spline regression, dimension-reduction, index-index models, generalized additive models, and random-effects models. Recently he has started to work on high-dimensional models in genomics.

Paat Rusmevichientong is interested in applications of data-driven models in operations research. Working with large amount of data such as web logs and point-of-sale transactions, his research has focused on using these data to help organizations make better decisions. The research involves developing data-driven models and identifying efficient algorithms for handling large data sets.
