Visitors and Postdocs
Matthias Poloczek is a postdoctoral researcher with Professor Peter Frazier. His research is on algorithms for optimization under uncertainty and for combinatorial optimization. He focuses on algorithms that are fast in practice and provide provable performance guarantees.
Poloczek received his Ph.D. in computer science from the Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main under Professor Georg Schnitger in 2013 and followed that up with a Post-Doctoral position at the Institute of Computer Science of the Goethe-University. He joined ORIE in 2014 as postdoc with Professor David P. Williamson. His work was funded in part by a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
