Peter Robert is responsible for financial sponsor coverage in the Americas at BBVA Corporate and Investment Bank in New York. In that capacity, he drives deal origination with private equity fund clients.
From 2002 to 2008, Mr. Robert was Head of U.S. Capital Markets at the Citi Private Bank and a member of its Leadership Committee with responsibility for all capital markets products. In the late nineties, Mr. Robert was President of CAL FP (US), Inc., a Lazard affiliate, specializing in strategic equity solutions for corporate and institutional clients in the Americas. Prior to Lazard, he held senior positions in derivatives at Morgan Stanley and Bear Stearns.
Throughout his financial career in New York, Mr. Robert has exercised leadership in building client businesses. His interests and experience include derivatives, structured equity, capital markets, risk management, investment management, and investment banking.
Mr. Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Operations Research, both from Cornell University. He was one of the first class of graduates of Cornell’s OR&IE department to go into a career in finance in New York. Mr. Robert lives in Riverside, Conn., with his two children and enjoys skiing and the outdoors.
