Students are responsible for understanding their degree requirements for the ORE major and planning their course of study. Our Undergraduate Office provides specific information to assist students with degree requirements and can answer specific questions related to course selection and planning.
All freshmen and sophomores in the College of Engineering take an array of courses designed to provide a strong foundation for later specialization. The coursework is established by the College Curriculum Governing Board (CCGB) and is administered by Engineering Advising.
Both the College of Engineering and the ORE major have requirements for the bachelor of science degree. The following checklist is meant to serve a guide for curriculum planning. It is not intended to be the definitive source for meeting degree requirements.
Each student is given a current copy of the checklist at the time they affiliate with the ORE major program. The ORIE Undergraduate Office maintains a copy of each student’s personal checklist in 203 Rhodes Hall.
Engineering Checklist
College of Engineering and ORE Major Requirements include:
10-course (37 credits) engineering core:
| *Either Math 2930, 3040, or CS 2800 can be used to satisfy the fourth math requirement. Students NOT taking Math 2930 may not enroll in Physics 2214. The following courses may be substituted for Phys 2214, if not used to meet other requirements: Chem 2080, Math 3110, Math 2930, Math 3040, Math 3360 or CS 2800. |

**ENGRD 2110 is required by the major. It is recommended that this course be counted as an engineering distribution course.
