The requirements for a Master of Engineering degree in Operations Research and Information Engineering are:

  • A minimum of 15 credits for each of two semesters and a total of 30 credits while enrolled in the M.Eng. program.
  • Courses that have direct professional relevance and are technical can be counted toward M.Eng. degree requirements. Most upper-level courses in engineering are allowed. Many other appropriate courses are offered by the Johnson Graduate School of Management, the School of Hotel Administration, and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. 
  • Students must take the following courses unless they have already taken equivalent courses as an undergraduate:  

Case Studies (ORIE 5110) 

Operations Research I: Optimization I (ORIE 5300) 

Topics in Linear Optimization (ORIE 5311) 

Engineering Probability and Statistics II (ORIE 5500) 

Monte Carlo Simulation (ORIE 4580)

Operations Research II: Introduction to Stochastic Processes I  (ORIE 5510).
