Cornell offers a broad range of services for Master of Engineering students engaged in a job search. These services cover résumé and interview preparation as well as interview sign=ups. More than 650 employers, primarily from the corporate sector, visit campus each year to hold information sessions and conduct interviews. In addition, many employers contact ORIE directly with job opportunities that are passed along to students, and students have access to an extensive alumni network.
ORIE Master of Engineering students are served primarily by the Engineering Cooperative Education & Career Services. Services offered by the University's Career Services office can be helpful for some specialties. The Johnson Graduate School of Management Career Management Center is intended primarily for students of the Graduate School of Management but provides some services to Master of Engineering students with prior industry experience.
While no school can guarantee employment, Cornell’s track record is excellent. For Master of Engineering students, data about employment are included in reports linked from here. (These data rely on self-reporting by graduates, hence give an incomplete picture.) International students have to make a special effort to locate U.S. employers who will accept them for Optional Practical Training with the potential for an H1B visa. International opportunities are increasingly available as well.
