Cornell Ranked Among the Top Ten Quant Schools, According to Wall Street Experts
November 4, 2008
The print and web publication Advanced Trading has designated Cornell's Financial Engineering Master of Engineering program as one of the top 10 in the country. In article announcing the selection, the author points out that, "while in the past quants often have been Ph.D.s in the academic world before crossing over to the Street, today there are more and more programs geared specifically toward preparing quants for financial services jobs."
The programs were selected by a "board of estimated Wall Street veterans, each with an academic background that eventually led him down the quant road" according to Advanced Trading. They include the co-founder of Quantitative Brokers, the managing director of networking and analytical and research products at Investment Technology Group, the head of financial engineering at FX Solutions, and the manager of Trading Technologies' University Relations Program.
